The work of Roger Chavez, who teaches at Ursinus, is the focus of this exhibition. Chavez is a Philadelphia-based artist whose paintings push the boundaries between genres such as portraiture and still life, still life and landscape, and assert the permeability of such boundaries. His canvases range from intimate to expansive essays in the layering of color and use of forms.
An opening reception will be held on Oct. 7 from 2 to 4 p.m.
The exhibition runs through Jan. 13, 2013.
