Math Talk: R.L. Moore
Professor Jeff Neslen will give a talk about the life and work of one of America's first world-class mathematicians, R.L. Moore. His contributions to point-set topology are well known. He also pioneered the "Moore Method of Teaching," which has students discover results on their own. Moore was also an iconoclast, whose prejudices and arrogance made him both revered and reviled.
Lunch will be provided at no cost. All are welcome to attend.
