U.S. farm policy has evolved from helping small farmers to large corporations. The changes has also been accompanied by regulations and rules that do not make economic sense. Do we subsidize tobacco while tax the use of tobacco? Do we protect peanut and rice farmers from foreign competition? Sallie James from the Cato Institute will discuss the chaotic farm policy and explore new options.
