Center for Science & Common Good: Dr. Kathy Hirsh-Pasek
The Center for Science and the Common Good welcomes Dr. Kathy Hirsh-Pasek to campus. The title of her talk is "From the Lab to the Living Room and Beyond: Where Psychological Science Meets the Common Good."
Dr. Kathy Hirsh-Pasek is the Stanley and Debra Lefkowitz Professor in the Department of Psychology at Temple University, where she serves as Director of the Infant Language Laboratory.
She has written 11 books, including Einstein Never Used Flash Cards, How Babies Talk, The Origins of Grammar, and Becoming a Word Learner. Her work has also appeared in more than 100 publications.
The talk is a program of The Center for Science and the Common Good at Ursinus College, which provides opportunities for all Ursinus students to consider the impact of science on the common good and to learn to better communicate scientific research to the public. It is funded by a grant from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute.
